The QA Automation Engineer will combine manual testing expertise with test automation to embed quality throughout the software delivery lifecycle. This role emphasizes a shift-left mindset, working collaboratively with product managers, developers, and QA peers to identify risks early and improve test coverage. Key responsibilities include executing manual exploratory testing for new features while building automated test scripts for long-term stability, developing and maintaining automated test suites using Playwright or Selenium, and participating actively in agile ceremonies to advocate for quality. The engineer will collaborate with product and engineering teams to clarify acceptance criteria, perform exploratory testing to uncover edge cases, analyze test results and identify bugs, investigate defects to isolate root causes, and champion shift-left testing practices and continuous improvement. Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent); 5+ years QA experience with automation focus; proficiency in both manual and automated testing; expertise with Playwright or Selenium; CI/CD pipeline integration experience; at least one programming/scripting language; solid understanding of agile methodologies; and strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills. Preferred qualifications include cloud platform experience (AWS preferred), BDD frameworks (Gherkin, Cucumber), performance or integration testing familiarity, test management tools (Jira, TestRail), and API testing tools knowledge.
