Flock Safety is seeking a Public Affairs Manager to lead regional government and community engagement across Southern California. In this role, you will serve as Flock's primary representative to local municipal leaders, city council members, and community organizations, advancing public safety policy objectives and strengthening public trust in Flock's technology platform. You will spend significant time in the field engaging external stakeholders directly—not at a desk. Key responsibilities include leading engagement with local executive leaders and city council members; representing Flock at city council meetings, public hearings, and community forums with formal testimony and presentations; building and sustaining regional coalitions with influential community groups and third-party partners; collaborating with internal sales and communications teams to align public affairs strategies with regional growth goals; and establishing structured communication rhythms with external stakeholders to maintain consistent dialogue on public safety outcomes. This is a proactive, relationship-building role. You will establish long-term relationships with key stakeholders before municipal debates arise, rather than reacting to policy developments. The position requires flexibility with regional travel schedules and evening availability for city council meetings. You bring direct experience engaging local government officials—whether from government, campaign, or public advocacy backgrounds. You can articulate complex public policy and technology concepts clearly in formal settings and community discussions. You have a sophisticated understanding of municipal politics, city council dynamics, and bipartisan coalition building. You have proven ability to establish and maintain relationships with influential community organizations and grassroots stakeholders, and you have professional experience in public policy or related fields. Flock Safety supports over 1 million criminal investigations annually and helps locate missing people. The company is backed by over $1B in funding and operates at scale with 1,700+ employees.
