Isar Aerospace is seeking a Propulsion Valves Engineer to design and procure valves for advanced rocket propulsion systems. In this role, you will own the full lifecycle of valve development—from requirements definition and CAD design through manufacturing oversight, assembly optimization, and comprehensive testing.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with propulsion teams to define valve requirements and specifications
- Designing valves using CAD software (SolidWorks or Siemens NX) and conducting design reviews
- Managing manufacturing processes, addressing production issues, and optimizing assembly
- Planning and supervising development, acceptance, qualification, and integrated system tests
- Analyzing test data and ensuring component and system performance and reliability
- Traveling to Isar's test and launch facilities to support prototyping, development testing, and launch operations
You will work on cutting-edge rocket technology in a fast-paced aerospace environment, directly contributing to space launch capabilities.
Required qualifications:
- M.Sc. or M.Eng. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- Hands-on experience with testing preparation, operation, and post-test data analysis
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks or Siemens NX preferred)
- Knowledge of machining processes and technical drawing creation
- Programming experience (Python or similar languages)
- Understanding of rocket design and propulsion systems
- Strong problem-solving and systematic engineering methodology
- Ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary, cross-functional teams
- Detail-oriented, organized, and proactive
- Willingness to travel for testing and launch operations
