Relativity Space is developing the Terran R rocket to deliver payloads to orbit using advanced 3D printing manufacturing. The Propulsion team focuses on designing, testing, and qualifying high-performance engines for the Terran R vehicle.
As a Propulsion Test Responsible Engineer I, you will be part of the Engine Systems & Test Team, responsible for the full lifecycle of propulsion test articles from design through qualification and flight. This is a highly varied role spanning multiple technical domains.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and execute test plans in collaboration with product owners and the Stennis test facility team
- Serve as the Responsible Engineer for propulsion test articles, owning exploratory operations and evaluations
- Troubleshoot technical challenges during test campaigns and analyze test hardware behavior
- Execute diverse technical tasks including writing test sequences, reviewing data, hands-on test article work, writing code, operating console during hotfire tests, and designing tooling
- Support engine subsystem troubleshooting and partner team investigations
- Contribute to engine system analysis, simulation, and trade studies
- Collaborate closely with component engineers, manufacturing teams, test facility teams, and launch operations
