Salary: USD 129,000 - 171,000 / annual

Anduril Industries is seeking a Propulsion Test Engineer to join the Propulsion Manufacturing Engineering Team in Irvine, California. This role owns end-of-line static-fire test operations for jet engines and subcomponents at scale. You will be the sole owner of critical production testing operations, responsible for both building new clean-sheet static-fire test equipment and troubleshooting/improving existing systems. Key responsibilities include: - Develop test stands, instrumentation packages, and equipment to support production engine test and integration - Act as the primary owner for static-fire production testing operations - Design test procedures and processes for production technicians - Develop system requirements and test campaigns for airbreathing turbine applications - Work with engine control systems including FADECs, ECUs, Starter-Generators, and related hardware - Work with actuators, sensors, connectors, and engine control system architecture - Test, diagnose, and analyze engine data on test stands, expeditions, and flight test - Lead data reviews and root cause investigations Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Aerospace Engineering; 2+ years of relevant experience in gas turbine, aerospace test engineering, or rocket propulsion; experience designing and building test equipment; knowledge of instrumentation and data acquisition; familiarity with test planning and documentation; programming ability in Python, Matlab, or similar languages; experience with airbreathing or rocket propulsion testing; and ability to collaborate across engineering disciplines. Must be a U.S. Person eligible for Secret security clearance. Travel up to 50% required. Preferred qualifications include CAD design ability, knowledge of manufacturing methods, experience procuring development parts, familiarity with CAN/XCP/ARINC protocols, experience with CANape tools, and background in automotive or aviation control electronics.
