Impulse Space is seeking a Propulsion Test Engineer to lead liquid rocket propulsion test operations at their Mojave Air & Space Port facility. You will work with a fast-paced, agile team designing and building world-class test stands to support the development and production of engines and propulsion components for in-space transportation systems. Key responsibilities include conducting test operations of liquid rocket propulsion hardware, performing test setup, hardware inspections, checkouts, and troubleshooting. You will create, modify, and optimize test sequences and procedures to improve operational efficiency. The role involves designing and building clean-sheet fluid, mechanical, and electrical systems in support of high-rate testing, as well as resolving technical issues with innovative solutions. You will own aspects of test stand design and build-up, create and communicate fluid P&IDs, electrical and controls schematics, identify and procure appropriate test equipment, and work with data acquisition and control systems. This is a hands-on role requiring strong project ownership and collaboration within a small, high-performing team. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace, electrical engineering, or related field, plus 1+ years of professional experience in hardware development testing. You should have strong engineering fundamentals in thermal, structural, and fluids analysis, prior hands-on operational experience with aerospace test facilities, and demonstrated experience owning test stand design and build-up. Proficiency with data acquisition, control methods, and the ability to work well in small teams are essential.
