As a Propulsion Manufacturing Engineer, you will oversee the end-to-end production of propulsion subsystems for high-orbit satellites. Your responsibilities include managing component production, subsystem assembly, and vehicle integration while meeting stringent stakeholder and industry requirements alongside aggressive cost and schedule targets.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage propulsion subsystem production for high-orbit satellite applications
- Design, build, or source all tooling and equipment needed for component manufacturing and subsystem assembly
- Develop and maintain manufacturing infrastructure to support satellite production capabilities
- Create manufacturing processes that meet rigorous internal and external standards
- Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver subsystems on schedule and to quality specifications
- Participate in recruiting and hiring for the growing team
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (engineering, physics, or equivalent)
- 3+ years of industry experience in propulsion, space vehicles, or high-precision welding
- Proficiency in CAD and hands-on hardware building
- Demonstrated ability to personally manage construction of complex hardware
- Passion for manufacturing in fast-paced environments with hands-on design/development work
- Must be onsite 5 days per week
Bonus qualifications include direct aerospace or propulsion welding experience, electric or chemical space propulsion background, expertise in machining/welding/tool design, MES/ERP software familiarity, GD&T knowledge, industry standards interpretation (AWS D17.1, MIL-STDs), pressurized systems experience, and reliability/mission assurance best practices.
