Varda Space Industries is building commercial space infrastructure, including in-orbit pharmaceutical processing, reentry capsules, heat shields, and satellite buses. As Propulsion Engineer II – Hardware & Bus Systems, you will be a hands-on technical owner of the propulsion subsystem and propulsion hardware across Varda's fleet of spacecraft.
You will take ownership of assigned systems and work products within a fast-moving interdisciplinary engineering team. Your responsibilities include:
• Owning and maintaining the propulsion system architecture across Varda's vehicle fleet
• Generating analysis products and performing component sizing calculations
• Developing propulsion software tools and conducting data review
• Performing detailed mechanical design work on propulsion hardware
• Conducting subsystem testing and validation
• Supporting vehicle operations both on the ground and in orbit
• Contributing to the development of current and future vehicles key to Varda's growth
You will work in a hands-on environment, building technical breadth across propulsion systems, thermal management, avionics integration, and structural considerations. The role requires collaboration with an interdisciplinary team of engineers and direct contribution to spacecraft development.
