As a Propulsion Component Engineer, you will own all aspects of spacecraft solenoid valve design from concept to product realization. Working within a fast-paced, agile team building high-performance spacecraft from clean sheet design, you will drive the full lifecycle of component engineering.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own all aspects of component design from concept through product realization
- Generate detailed CAD models and manufacturing drawings
- Perform fluid, thermal, structural, and magnetic analysis as required
- Work with the team and external sources to procure materials, fabricate parts, and complete assemblies
- Provide technical support for test operations
- Resolve technical issues with innovative and resourceful solutions
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or science
- 3+ years of experience in solenoid valve or electromagnetic component design
- Hands-on experience working with fluid and mechanical systems
- Proficiency in CAD software with ability to learn new tools
- Demonstrated capability in performing structural, magnetic, and thermal analysis in support of design
- Proven ability in requirements definition, conceptual design, procurement, fabrication, assembly, and testing of hardware
