This role owns the full Federal proposal and capture function as Kaizen scales its government contracting business. You will be responsible for developing and submitting Federal solicitation responses end-to-end—RFx responses, white papers, solution briefs, and unsolicited proposals—from initial draft through final submission. You'll monitor Federal contracting channels beyond SAM.gov to surface opportunities aligned with Kaizen's strengths and work closely with product, engineering, and partnerships teams to translate technical capabilities into compelling narratives that resonate with Federal contracting officers.
Key responsibilities include building AI-assisted workflows and templates to accelerate the proposal function as the team grows, partnering with the Federal BD lead on capture strategy and opportunity qualification, and identifying implicit requirements that solicitations don't explicitly state—often the difference between winning and losing. You'll represent Kaizen at virtual industry days and Federal BD activities as needed.
You bring at least 8 years of hands-on experience writing and winning Federal government proposals, ideally from a startup or fast-moving tech company rather than large traditional Federal contractors. You have deep fluency in Federal procurement mechanics, contracting officer relationships, unsolicited proposal development, and solicitation types. You're detail-oriented, self-directed, and have real experience using AI tools in proposal work. Ideal candidates have backgrounds at mission-driven tech companies like Palantir or Anduril, have worked in small nimble proposal teams, and own both capture strategy and proposal development end-to-end. This role is still being built—you'll shape the process as much as execute it.
