Salary: USD 70,000 - 105,000 / annual
Voyager Technologies, a space, defense, and national security technology company, is seeking a Proposal Writer to join its Proposal Development Team. You will work under the Director of Proposal Development to create technically credible and competitive aerospace proposals for NASA, the Department of Defense, and other government and civilian customers.
Key responsibilities include drafting original proposal content (product descriptions, technical specifications, performance requirements), conducting interviews with subject matter experts to gather technical information, reviewing and converting technical documentation into polished proposal content, and collaborating with graphic designers on visual representations. You will assemble, review, and edit proposals for accuracy and compliance, manage document assembly and formatting using Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat, create and maintain proposal templates and boilerplate libraries, and develop compliance checklists.
Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a technical field (engineering, physical sciences, or related area); 2+ years of aerospace industry or related experience; fluency in technical language (graphs, mathematical expressions, jargon); prior experience writing technical proposals, white papers, or reports; strong writing ability with excellent grammar and conciseness; ability to communicate technical topics through prose and graphics; critical thinking skills; collaborative mindset; exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills; ability to multitask and meet deadlines on overlapping projects.
Desired qualifications include basic understanding of spacecraft systems and engineering principles, and prior experience writing competitive proposals for funding. This role is ideal for candidates with engineering or science backgrounds interested in applying creative skills to proposal development.
