Sakana AI is seeking a Project Manager (Finance) to support the company's mission of advancing AI as a transformative technology for the 21st century. Based in Tokyo, you will work at the intersection of business and AI research, helping Sakana AI create impact across Japan's and the world's enterprise and government ecosystems.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with engineers and researchers to solve complex business challenges using AI
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with strategic business partners to identify new opportunities
- Leading company-wide product management initiatives and executing go-to-market strategies
You will report to leadership and work in a hybrid model combining office and remote work. The role requires fluent business-level Japanese (N1 proficiency) and ideally business-level English as well.
Ideal candidates bring one of the following backgrounds:
- Experience in global investment banking (capital raising, M&A, IPO)
- Experience at a top-tier global management consulting firm working with large Japanese enterprises
- Business development or product management experience at startups or global tech companies in Japan (AI experience a plus)
You should have a passion for generative AI models and LLMs, and hold a bachelor's or master's degree in finance, business, economics, law, or related fields (computer science or machine learning degrees are a bonus).
