Salary: USD 170,000 - 225,000 / annual
EC Electric seeks a Project Executive to lead and manage a commercial construction business unit with full P&L accountability. This role oversees $25M+ in annual revenue and manages multiple concurrent construction projects while ensuring safety, quality, and profitability.
The Project Executive will lead a team of Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, and administrative staff. Key responsibilities include:
• Managing all business and financial aspects across multiple concurrent projects, ensuring financial targets and quality standards are met
• Actively managing workload, professional development, and client development for project management staff
• Maintaining positive customer relations with contractors, subcontractors, and vendors while instilling company philosophy around safety, quality, service, and profitability
• Initiating, executing, and documenting quality pre-construction meetings aligned with company standards
• Managing contract administration, claims resolution, and dispute resolution
• Collaborating with the Estimating department on estimates, recaps, and project turnover; estimating and procuring electrical projects competitively
• Mentoring Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, and Assistant Project Managers
• Conducting weekly/monthly reviews to ensure adherence to schedules, quality, safety, administration, and profitability
• Ensuring qualified personnel are assigned to meet project deliverables
• Scheduling and documenting project closeout meetings; verifying project data and photos
• Driving division profitability through effective project execution
• Developing the organization through continuous improvement and lesson-learned initiatives
• Ensuring adherence to EC Electric's quality, safety, and best-practice standards
• Recruiting, managing, developing, and appraising direct reports; handling hiring, termination, and promotions
• Reviewing contractual requirements and risks for all projects
• Managing project review processes with emphasis on quality financial forecasting
• Ensuring construction estimates align with project workflow and customer schedules
• Communicating challenges, risks, and successes proactively to teams and direct reports
• Providing and maintaining annual business plans, updating quarterly results
• Demonstrating tact and professionalism in daily communication with internal and external customers
Requirements:
• Senior leadership experience in construction project delivery with full P&L responsibility for a business unit managing $25M+ in annual revenue and multiple concurrent projects
• Extensive electrical construction or specialty contracting experience with strong knowledge of estimating, procurement, contract administration, scheduling, and cost forecasting in competitive markets
• Proven people leadership and talent development capability, including recruiting, mentoring, performance management, and succession planning for senior project managers and teams
• Advanced financial and business acumen with demonstrated ability to drive profitability through accurate forecasting, budget control, risk management, and strategic business planning
• Expertise in safety, quality, and compliance leadership with strong track record of promoting injury-free environments, enforcing safe work practices, and upholding organizational standards
• Exceptional client relationship and communication skills, including managing customer expectations, resolving claims and disputes, and maintaining professional, trust-based partnerships with clients and trade partners
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and substantial industry experience; advanced certifications or leadership training preferred
