Tripadvisor is seeking a Connectivity Director to lead the technical and commercial relationship between the Viator platform and the reservation systems (restechs) that supplier partners rely on. This is a hands-on leadership role combining strategic vision with technical depth.
You will own the connectivity strategy—defining where supplier and restech integrations need to evolve, aligned to broader technical priorities including faster releases, better observability, simplification, and AI-driven efficiencies. You'll build and maintain C-suite level relationships with restech and supplier partners, serving as the senior technical face of Tripadvisor in those conversations.
The role requires genuine hands-on involvement: you'll dig into API design, integration architecture, and connectivity issues directly, not from a distance. You'll lead, grow, and mentor a team of tech leads and engineers, with experience building teams from scratch or reinvigorating existing ones globally. You'll partner closely with Product to shape the connectivity roadmap, working as a true product-oriented partner.
Key responsibilities include defining and owning connectivity strategy; building C-suite partnerships with external restech and supplier partners; staying hands-on with API design and integration architecture; leading and mentoring a global technical team; partnering with Product on roadmap development; driving adoption of new technologies and approaches; owning escalation and resolution of complex operational issues at scale; overseeing configuration, monitoring, and testing of supplier integrations; and adapting quickly as priorities and team structure evolve.
The role reports to the Senior Director, Destination Management. You'll be based remotely in the UK (ideally London area) with occasional office visits to London and Oxford locations to build real relationships with the team.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 10+ years of experience in technical leadership, connectivity strategy, or product engineering, ideally within travel technology or B2B SaaS
- Deep, hands-on knowledge of APIs and restech integration technologies; genuine understanding of how connectivity platforms work end-to-end
- Proven track record of building senior (C-suite level) relationships with restech and supplier partners
- Experience building a technical or connectivity strategy and getting hands-on to deliver against it
- Genuine hands-on technical experience with credibility to engage with engineering teams
- Comfortable working alongside Product as a true partner, ideally on customer-facing sites or apps
- Inclusive, non-hierarchical leadership style
- Energized by fast-moving environments; comfortable adapting to changes in remit, priorities, or structure
- Excellent communication and management skills with matching technical credibility
- Data/analytical mindset; ability to design and build relevant reports
- Strategic vision: ability to translate complex technical challenges into clear, long-term strategic roadmaps
- Executive presence: exceptional ability to communicate and influence at C-suite and executive levels, both internally and with external partners
- Adaptive leadership: resilient and inclusive; comfortable navigating and driving change in fast-paced, high-growth environments
- Collaborative approach: natural partner who excels at breaking down silos and fostering cross-functional alignment between Engineering, Product, and Commercial teams
