Re:Build Manufacturing operates an advanced, end-to-end manufacturing platform serving aerospace, defense, electrification, medical, energy, and robotics sectors. Composite Resources, a Re:Build subsidiary in Rock Hill, SC, is a rapidly growing manufacturer of composite components and tooling for aerospace and defense clients.
As Project Engineer (L3), you will own projects from concept through prototype to production, with considerable autonomy and variety. You'll interface directly with customers to gather requirements and create estimates, then collaborate with internal manufacturing teams on design and execution.
Key responsibilities include:
- Customer interfacing for requirements gathering and estimation
- Collaborative design with customers and manufacturing personnel
- Leading multi-departmental project planning and design review meetings
- CAD and technical drawing generation for parts and tooling
- Production support documentation (ply kits, lamination instructions)
- Material specification and BOM generation
- Project timeline definition and maintenance
- Cost monitoring and manufacturing support
You'll need a BS or MS in Mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautical, or related engineering field, plus 6+ years in composite component design and manufacturing (aerospace experience preferred). Strong project management, customer relationship building, and self-motivation are essential. Technical proficiency required in SolidWorks or equivalent CAD, Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and ISO/AS environments. Experience with mold design, DFM, fixturing, and work instruction development is valued.
