The Project Engineer III role is central to manufacturing operations, ensuring all components, tasks, and resources meet established quality standards and production goals while maintaining compliance with cGMP and OSHA regulations. Key responsibilities include leading cross-functional engineering projects from concept through production, developing detailed project schedules and communicating progress to leadership. You will create equipment specifications, RFQ documents, and AutoCAD plant layouts for production lines, collaborating with Operations to build consensus. The role involves managing equipment installations, utilities, start-up testing, and commissioning, while working with Controls and Validations groups on process monitoring strategies and equipment validation (IQ/OQ/PQ). You will generate solid models and detailed drawings for custom parts and tooling, execute Factory and Site Acceptance Testing (FAT/SAT) with potential offsite travel, and provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers. Additional responsibilities include supporting continuous improvement initiatives, performing machinery troubleshooting as a Subject Matter Expert, generating SOPs and change controls, and coordinating with Production to improve productivity and efficiency. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5-7 years of hands-on experience in Project Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related fields in an FDA-regulated environment. Experience with plant expansion, automation, or high-speed packaging lines is valued. You must demonstrate the ability to manage cross-functional teams on multiple projects of varying complexity, balance quality/cost/production considerations, and distinguish high-risk decisions requiring escalation.
