Workstream is a mission-driven Series B HR, payroll, and hiring platform built specifically for the hourly workforce—2.7 billion workers representing 80% of the global workforce. The company serves leading brands including Burger King, KFC, IHOP, and Culvers, backed by top-tier VCs including Founders Fund, BOND, and Coatue.
You will join the Professional Services team as a Senior Software Engineer, owning the design, development, and delivery of complex technical integrations between Workstream's platform and enterprise client systems. This is a role at the intersection of deep software engineering and customer partnership—you'll lead integration architecture decisions, mentor junior engineers, and drive technical standards across the PS organization.
The majority of your time is spent writing production code, architecting scalable solutions, and solving hard technical problems. You'll bring an AI-native mindset to everything you build, leveraging LLMs, automation, and modern AI tooling to deliver faster, smarter outcomes for clients and the team. You'll work directly with enterprise clients and internal stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into production-grade software with direct, visible impact on customer retention and satisfaction.
Key responsibilities include: architecting and building robust API integrations between the platform and client HR, payroll, and POS systems; developing and maintaining reusable integration frameworks and shared libraries that accelerate delivery; designing data transformation pipelines and ETL workflows; implementing security best practices and compliance standards; collaborating with product and customer success teams to define integration roadmaps; and mentoring junior engineers on integration patterns and best practices.
You'll work permanently remote with flexible PTO, annual bonus, $50 monthly stipend, and the opportunity to learn from a team of Stanford, MIT, Google, and Harvard alumni. The role offers career fast-track opportunities for high performers and internal mobility within a rapidly growing company.
