Salary: USD 100,000 - 125,000 / annual
Varda Space Industries is building commercial space infrastructure, including in-orbit pharmaceutical processing systems and reentry capsules. The Production Scheduler role is central to coordinating satellite hardware manufacturing from subassembly through integration, test, and delivery.
You will develop and maintain detailed production schedules that translate program milestones into achievable daily and weekly build plans. Key responsibilities include releasing work orders, tracking progress through inspection and test phases, and identifying schedule risks before they impact major milestones. You'll work cross-functionally with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Program Management to resolve production conflicts and keep builds aligned to launch commitments.
The role requires monitoring production progress in real time, updating schedules, and flagging critical-path constraints. You'll develop recovery schedules when needed and communicate changes and risks to all affected teams. Coordination with Supply Chain ensures parts availability, while partnership with Engineering tracks drawing releases, work-instruction approvals, and configuration changes.
You'll support daily scheduling meetings and weekly reviews, maintain accurate schedule data in ERP and MES systems, and track planned-versus-actual performance. Supporting Program Management with scenario planning and schedule-impact assessments is also part of the scope.
Required: 3+ years in production scheduling, planning, or manufacturing coordination in aerospace, defense, automotive, or complex manufacturing. Strong understanding of manufacturing workflows, material readiness, and ability to read work orders, BOMs, and engineering drawings. Experience with scheduling, ERP, MES, or project-management software. Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred: Associate or bachelor's degree in operations management, supply chain, or engineering. Experience scheduling satellite or spacecraft production. Advanced skills in Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Primavera P6, or Excel. Knowledge of critical-path scheduling, capacity planning, and earned-value principles. Familiarity with cleanroom operations and configuration-controlled hardware.
