Xona Space Systems is building next-generation satellite navigation through a commercial constellation of low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites, offering a high-performance, resilient alternative to GPS with centimeter-level precision and robust security.
The Production Planner / Scheduler will own planning, scheduling, tracking, and capacity management for Xona's satellite production facility. This is a critical operations role ensuring work orders, staffing schedules, and equipment priorities align to deliver completed satellites on time.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the master production schedule and coordinating work order releases into the production facility
- Partnering with supply chain and materials teams to coordinate work order release, capacity planning, material kitting, and inventory staging
- Managing schedule changes, performing impact analysis and modeling to optimize production efficiency
- Monitoring work-in-progress activities and coordinating resolution of ECOs, NCRs, and supplier issues
- Participating in daily shop-floor production stand-ups and operations reviews
- Leveraging MRP, MES, and other digital tools to optimize planning and coordination across cells, teams, shifts, and sites
- Supporting both short-term and long-term capacity planning, people planning, and budgeting activities
- Continuously improving planning processes across Xona's HQ facility and in collaboration with the Montreal facility
Ideal candidates hold a bachelor's degree in supply chain, industrial engineering, operations management, or related discipline (APICS/ASCM certification desirable). At least 2 years' experience in planning, production control, logistics, MRP, or inventory management in rate-production environments is essential. Strong proficiency with MRP/ERP systems, advanced Excel skills, understanding of lean manufacturing and QMS systems, and data-driven decision-making are required. Experience in aerospace, satellite, defense, medical device, or semiconductor manufacturing is preferred.
