Rocket Lab is seeking a Production Planner II to join its Supply Chain team at the Long Beach headquarters. This role is central to managing the flow of materials, products, and components through the business, directly supporting the success of Rocket Lab's Electron rockets and satellite programs.
You will be responsible for work order management and production scheduling, interacting closely with Engineering, Quality, Production, Supply Chain, and Finance teams. Key responsibilities include managing supply and fulfillment planning within the MRP system, releasing work orders to Production and kit requests to Inventory, and creating visibility of material position through reports such as line of balance, material shortage, and clear-to-build analyses.
You will support prioritization and expediting of subassemblies to meet integration timelines, ensure accuracy of part master data within the MRP system, and understand material demand and configuration accuracy. The role requires strong cross-functional collaboration and the ability to work effectively with multiple departments to achieve company-wide goals.
Required qualifications include 2+ years of production planning experience and a Bachelor's degree (or 6+ years equivalent work experience). You must have proven ability to conduct clear build reviews, expedite materials through production, and possess knowledge of production planning fundamentals including master data management, batch processing, and issue ticket disposition. Proficiency in MRP systems, MS Office, ERP systems, and mathematics/statistics is essential.
Preferred qualifications include prior experience in aerospace, EV automotive, or other disruptive manufacturing industries; experience in rapid growth environments; ability to read and interpret engineering drawings; familiarity with AS9100 and US export controls; strong organizational and problem-solving skills; excellent communication abilities; and experience with SQL, Python, or R.
