Salary: USD 75,000 - 100,000 / annual

Terran Orbital, a leading satellite manufacturer serving aerospace and defense industries, is seeking an experienced Production Planner to join their dynamic team in Irvine, CA. Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Production Planning, you will be responsible for ensuring timely and efficient procurement, scheduling, and delivery of materials to support production and engineering operations. Key responsibilities include developing, implementing, and maintaining material requirement plans (MRP) based on production schedules, engineering demands, and project milestones. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast material needs and align procurement strategies with project goals. The role involves monitoring inventory levels to optimize stock while minimizing excess or obsolete materials, and working closely with procurement to ensure on-time delivery, resolving delays or quality issues promptly. You will analyze material usage trends, lead times, and demand fluctuations to drive continuous improvement in planning processes. Consulting with project managers and third-party program management, you'll integrate multiple parallel program requirements, set up assignments and tasks, and identify critical path elements and solutions. Coordination of production timelines with internal departments and external stakeholders is essential, as is monitoring production timelines and deadlines. The role requires identifying trends, bottlenecks, and inefficiencies in material planning and potential production schedule delays, recommending actionable improvements and facilitating timely intervention. You will evaluate performance and prepare production performance reports, develop metrics and performance calculations, and accommodate updates and changes to production schedules. Regular stakeholder meetings will be held to receive scheduled inputs, monitor progress, and identify production barriers. You will recommend actions to keep products within budget and completed on time, collaborate with stakeholders to inform them of production timelines and deadlines, and document production scheduling processes and maintain records. Terran Orbital provides end-to-end satellite solutions combining satellite design, production, launch planning, mission operations, and on-orbit support for military, civil, and commercial customers. REQUIREMENTS: - Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field - 3+ years of experience as a production planner/scheduler - Familiarity with Earned Value Management or similar reporting and metrics - Proven track record of maintaining production schedules and providing performance reports - Proficiency in project scheduling software (MS Project, Excel, Microsoft Dynamics) - Proficiency in database software (Excel, MS Access, SQL) - Proficiency in ERP software (MS Dynamics) - Ability to keep stakeholders informed of production timelines and changes - Aerospace industry experience or equivalent experience developing and maintaining production schedules for advanced and technical efforts - Excellent organizational, time-management, and communication skills - Exceptional communication skills with multiple disciplines - Experience providing deliverables and presenting to executive level - U.S. Person or lawful permanent resident to comply with U.S. government space technology export regulations - May require current United States National Security clearance or eligibility for such clearance
