Mariana Minerals is a software-first, vertically integrated minerals company supplying critical minerals for modern energy, AI, and defense technologies. The company is reimagining the minerals supply chain through deep industry expertise combined with advanced software, automation, and data-driven decision-making. As the first Production Planner, you will be the central orchestrator of production planning across all Mariana Minerals sites. You'll partner directly with site leads to develop and refine site-level production plans, then consolidate these into a unified, company-wide view that provides clear visibility into operations across the entire organization. You'll own key operational metrics including productivity, cycle times, and costs, driving continuous improvement initiatives across all sites. A significant part of your role involves building planning tools and systems within MarianaOS, leveraging AI-assisted development to create scalable solutions. You'll take over and expand production planning work currently distributed across the team, establishing standardized processes and best practices. This role sits at the intersection of operations, data, and operational excellence (OpEx), reporting directly to the COO. You'll be responsible for defining KPIs, tracking performance, identifying improvement opportunities, and working closely with site leadership and technical program managers to keep plans aligned and on track. You'll build the playbook for production planning and help shape the foundation of a central OpEx team. The role requires someone scrappy, data-driven, and highly collaborative—someone excited to build systems from the ground up in a fast-paced startup environment. You'll work primarily at one of the company's operating sites (La Sal, Utah; Houston or Joaquin, Texas; or San Francisco), with periodic travel to other Mariana sites. Site visits may involve exposure to industrial and mining environments requiring appropriate PPE. QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS: - 5+ years of experience in operations, business operations, or production planning; OpEx or continuous improvement background strongly preferred - Bachelor's degree preferred - Experience defining and tracking KPIs such as productivity, cycle times, and costs - Data-driven system builder who uses metrics to drive decisions and AI to create tracking tools - Highly collaborative with strong communication skills and ability to partner with site leaders and program managers across multiple locations - Thrives in fast-paced startup environment with ambiguity and room to build
