Datadog is seeking a Product Strategy and Corporate Development Lead to drive product vision, M&A strategy, and venture investments across the EMEA region. This is a high-autonomy role on a small team where technical depth is as critical as deal execution.
You will work directly with Datadog's founders and global engineering/product leaders to identify and execute transactions that expand the platform into new markets. Your focus will be the EMEA landscape—one of the most dynamic enterprise software ecosystems—while serving as a bridge between Datadog's NYC and Paris headquarters.
Key responsibilities include:
- Partner closely with Product & Engineering leaders to discover expansion opportunities and stay ahead of market trends in AI/ML, observability, security, and cloud infrastructure
- Identify and evaluate M&A targets and venture investment opportunities across European markets, with emphasis on AI-native and infrastructure companies
- Build deep relationships with founders, VCs, and accelerators across Paris, London, and Iberian ecosystems to generate proprietary deal flow
- Lead end-to-end due diligence: technical product assessments, financial modeling, valuation analysis, and integration planning
- Assess technical architectures, product fit, and team quality of target companies alongside senior engineering and product leaders
- Negotiate and close complex transactions (acquisitions, investments, hyperscaler partnerships) and develop strategic recommendations for senior leadership and the CEO
You bring 3-7 years of experience in corporate development, venture capital, engineering, or product management at a high-growth tech company. You have demonstrated technical depth—able to analyze products deeply, understand architectures, and engage credibly with engineering and product leaders (via CS/engineering background, prior engineering experience, or deep AI/infrastructure investing). Strong AI literacy is essential: you actively use AI tools, understand current AI/ML infrastructure trends, and can evaluate AI-native companies. Experience in European tech markets (Paris, London, Iberia) is strongly preferred; background at an AI-native company is a plus. You thrive with high autonomy in fast-paced, ambiguous environments, source proprietary opportunities through personal networks, and engage senior stakeholders—from startup founders to C-suite—with credibility and genuine curiosity about what makes technology defensible.
