Salary: USD 110,000 - 147,000 / annual
Anduril Industries is seeking a Product Sourcing Engineer to drive strategic supply network development and cost management for the Rocket Motor Systems (RMS) team. This role is critical to building next-generation solid rocket motors and establishing Anduril as a large-volume provider of tactical rocket motors.
You will conduct supplier selection leveraging the approved supplier list and partner with strategic suppliers to accelerate product development through concept scoping, feature trade-off analysis, should-cost modeling, and joint design development. Key responsibilities include developing and consolidating manufacturing BOMs in collaboration with Quality and Manufacturing teams, managing CAPEX throughout new product introduction (NPI), and conducting value-stream mapping to optimize supply network lead time and flexibility.
You will complete BOM risk assessments including alternate component sourcing, ensure component qualifications ahead of production, and drive complexity reduction through commonality optimization and supplier rationalization. A major focus is leading cost engineering activities to converge bottom-up cost curves to product targets while maximizing total cost of ownership (TCO) across the product lifecycle. You will also manage ad-hoc cost issues such as tariffs, import/export costs, and cost inflation.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical field, 3+ years of experience in sourcing engineering, supplier engagement, design of electronics/mechanical devices, and domain expertise in value/procurement engineering or TCO work. You must be able to travel up to 25% and relocate to Huntsville, AL if not already local.
Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree, deeper experience in electronics/mechanical design, advanced sourcing activities, supplier development, early supplier engagement, experience in regulatory environments (preferably energetics and SRM production), familiarity with high-mix low-volume product development, startup environment exposure, and ability to obtain/maintain a U.S. TS clearance.
