Salary: USD 130,000 - 215,000 / annual

Astranis builds advanced satellites for high orbits, serving large enterprises, sovereign governments, and the US military with dedicated, secure communications networks. As a Product Security Engineer, you will be a software engineer with deep security expertise, responsible for embedding security throughout the software development lifecycle—from design through deployment. Your primary focus is building secure software using Python and modern web frameworks, while also identifying vulnerabilities, conducting security reviews, and elevating security practices across engineering teams. Key responsibilities include: - Performing security code reviews and penetration testing on web applications and services - Serving as a security champion within development teams, driving security initiatives - Providing guidance to developers on secure coding practices and security implementation - Conducting threat modeling and risk assessments to identify and prioritize application and infrastructure threats - Collaborating with vendors, partners, and engineers to design and implement remediation strategies - Working with teams during the design phase to ensure products meet high security standards - Auditing and writing secure code across the stack You bring 2+ years of software engineering experience with a security focus, strong knowledge of secure coding practices for web applications, and hands-on expertise in Python and modern frameworks (Django, Flask, React). You have proven experience in threat modeling and security assessments, deep knowledge of security best practices and common vulnerabilities, and excellent communication skills. You're analytical, detail-oriented, and thrive in collaborative team environments.
