Zen Educate is a fast-growing edtech company helping schools save millions through technology while connecting educators with rewarding work. The company has already helped schools save over £30 million and is scaling rapidly across the UK and US. The Product & Technology team is expanding globally, and the company is transitioning from sprint-based processes to a high-velocity, Mission-based operating model.
As Product Operations Manager, you will architect and own the operational system that enables the product team to move from idea to launch with maximum autonomy and minimum bureaucracy. This is not a Jira-admin role; it's about product-managing how the company builds products.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own and refine the Mission-based deployment model, ensuring teams move from Pitch to Launch efficiently
- Manage the "Single Front Door" by running weekly Triage sessions as gatekeeper for business requests, ensuring all are framed as clear Missions with business cases before reaching the Investment Committee
- Maintain the central metrics dashboard (HUD) so Product Managers have self-serve access to data proving Mission impact
- Standardize rituals like "Mission Control" and "Waypoints" to create a clear rhythm of progress without calendar bloat
- Serve as operational glue across Design, Engineering, and Growth to ensure smooth launches and cross-functional alignment
- Deliver weekly company-wide Pulse updates
- Coordinate with Customer Service to triage bugs and small improvements, ensuring rotating engineering teams focus on highest-value fixes
You will work in a culture that values clarity, pace, sustainability, and human kindness. The role is based at the London HQ (Oval) on a hybrid basis (3 days in office).
Requirements:
- 4+ years in Product Operations, Product Management, or Business Operations scaling systems with measurable impact
- Scale-up experience navigating the "messy middle" of fast-growing companies (Series B/C/D stage)
- Data literacy: comfortable with BI systems and product analytics to turn raw data into strategic narrative
- Track record optimizing development lifecycles and managing modern product tech stacks
- Strong change management capabilities
- Excellent communication skills with ability to make complex systems simple and usable for diverse teams
- Systems thinking mindset: driven to eliminate inefficiency and build repeatable processes
- Pragmatic mediation skills to hold multiple perspectives and drive alignment at pace
- Outcome-obsessed approach focused on impact over outputs
