Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through advanced technology. The Counter-Intrusion Business Line develops products enabling operators to protect people and assets from threats on land and sea, deployed across every major global operating theater.
As a Product Operations Engineer on the Counter-Intrusion product operations team, you will architect how the company observes, maintains, and evolves its deployed fleet. Rather than responding to incidents, you build the systems, queries, and processes that prevent them. You will design and develop uptime reporting, plan and execute software deployments to towers, create and refine monitoring solutions for both new and legacy products, and author the runbooks and SOPs that the broader team relies on daily.
You will own the operational tooling, reporting infrastructure, and deployment processes that keep Counter-Intrusion technology healthy at scale. This role requires strong technical depth in observability and systems thinking, paired with judgment to prioritize what to build next based on fleet data and operational patterns.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design, develop, and maintain queries and dashboards for uptime reporting across the deployed fleet, translating raw telemetry into actionable fleet health metrics
- Serve as product operations planner and executor for software changes deployed to towers, owning the end-to-end lifecycle from change validation through rollout and post-deployment verification
- Work with tower software engineering to develop and tailor monitoring solutions for new deployments, ensuring observability is built in from day one
- Improve and optimize monitoring configurations for legacy products, identifying gaps and reducing alert noise
- Continuously author, update, and refine runbooks, SOPs, and troubleshooting guides
- Assess and ratchet up the quality of the fleet's observability and telemetry in partnership with product and engineering teams
- Analyze fleet-wide operational data to identify systemic reliability trends and proactively surface issues
- Define and implement process improvements for deployment workflows, incident response, and operational tooling
- Develop and maintain automation to reduce manual operational overhead
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of experience in a technical operations or engineering role with hands-on responsibility for production systems
- Prior experience in a product operations, technical support, or site reliability role supporting deployed hardware/software systems, with demonstrated progression in scope and ownership
- Proficiency in developing monitoring queries, dashboards, and alerting configurations using observability platforms such as Datadog, Grafana, or similar tooling
- Experience planning and executing software deployments to distributed systems, including rollout strategy, validation, and rollback procedures
- Scripting and automation skills (e.g., Python, Bash) with a track record of building tooling that improves operational efficiency
- Experience with software development tooling such as Git and issue tracking tools such as Jira
- Demonstrated ability to author clear, thorough technical documentation including runbooks, SOPs, and troubleshooting guides
- Proven ability to work independently, identify what needs to be built, and deliver it without close direction
- Excellent written, visual, and verbal communication skills
- Active U.S. security clearance required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prior military or government agency exposure/experience
- Experience building queries and dashboards in Datadog, Grafana (PromQL/LogQL), or equivalent observability platforms
- Experience with Linux system administration and command-line troubleshooting of electromechanical or networked systems
- Experience supporting autonomous sensor tower systems or similar deployed C-UAS/counter-intrusion technology
- Exposure to Anduril's Lattice OS or similar command-and-control software platforms
- Experience operating in limited risk tolerance production environments with on-call responsibilities
- Willingness to work non-standard hours and weekends when operational needs require
