Ironclad is an AI-powered contract lifecycle management platform trusted by leading organizations including Rivian, the World Health Organization, and the Associated Press. The company is recognized as a Leader in the Forrester Wave and Gartner Magic Quadrant for CLM, and has been named to Forbes' AI 50 and Fast Company's Most Innovative Workplaces. Backed by top-tier investors including Accel, Y Combinator, and Sequoia.
As Director of Product Marketing for the Legal persona, you will own the complete go-to-market strategy and execution for Ironclad's legal buyer segment—from market research and positioning through pipeline generation, adoption, and revenue outcomes. You'll operate with a general manager mindset, serving as both the internal voice of the legal buyer and the external champion of Ironclad's value proposition.
Key responsibilities include:
• Market & Competitive Intelligence: Become the definitive expert on legal buyers (GCs, legal ops teams)—their priorities, pain points, buying processes, and value language. Track competitive positioning and translate market insights into actionable strategy that influences product roadmap and GTM approach.
• Positioning & Messaging: Define and maintain Ironclad's narrative for the legal persona across all touchpoints. Build messaging that resonates in boardrooms, sales calls, and campaigns—differentiated, evidence-backed, and free of buzzwords. Partner closely with product and engineering to ensure alignment between what is built and what is communicated.
• Product Launches: Lead all launches relevant to the legal persona, owning strategy, messaging, assets, and field readiness. Ensure every stakeholder can confidently tell the launch story.
• Campaigns & Demand Generation: Partner with revenue marketing to design and execute campaigns targeting legal buyers across the funnel. Develop campaign themes, content strategy, and proof points that convert awareness into pipeline.
• Sales Enablement: Own priority sales plays for the legal segment. Equip sellers with sharp, ready-to-use tools including talk tracks, battlecards, objection handlers, and discovery guides. Ensure field readiness is measurable.
• Adoption & Expansion: Partner with customer success and product to drive adoption of legal-focused AI capabilities post-sale. Identify expansion signals and build plays that turn satisfied users into expanded accounts.
Requirements:
• 8+ years of B2B product marketing experience, ideally at an AI or SaaS company serving legal buyers
• Proven ability to own a persona or segment end to end—not just launches, but pipeline, adoption, and business outcomes
• Sharp strategic thinker who can write compelling one-pagers and prepare sellers for competitive calls
• Fluency in the legal buyer's world—understanding what general counsels care about, how legal ops thinks about ROI, and why deals stall
• Strong cross-functional instincts: knows when to lead, when to align, and how to get things done across product, engineering, sales, customer success, and marketing
• Comfortable working with data—can extract insights from Gong, Salesforce, win/loss interviews, and translate them into clear recommendations
• Thrives in ambiguity and moves fast without waiting for perfect information
