Supabase is hiring a Product Manager to own the Realtime product surface—a core part of the Postgres development platform. Realtime enables developers to build live, collaborative, and event-driven applications through Broadcast, Presence, Postgres Changes, and future capabilities.
In this role, you will:
- Collaborate with developers across the spectrum: indie developers, startups building collaborative SaaS, and enterprise teams streaming live data to dashboards.
- Own the Realtime roadmap's problem statements and solution rationale, working closely with Engineering and Design to shape the developer experience.
- Guide how Realtime evolves to enable emerging application patterns, including AI apps and integration with other Supabase products.
- Own Realtime packaging and pricing strategy, coordinating with Pricing, Finance, and Billing teams.
- Use data to understand developer usage patterns: where they succeed, where they struggle, and what to prioritize.
- Keep Engineering, Design, and GTM aligned on the plan of record—what's coming, why, and in what order.
You'll work in a fully remote, async-first environment within a 400-person, globally distributed team across 60+ countries. Supabase has raised over $1B (including a $500M Series F) and operates as a born-remote, open-source-first company.
REQUIREMENTS (Must Have):
- 5+ years of Product Management experience on developer tools, OR equivalent depth as an ex-founder. You should be comfortable reviewing architecture docs, following design discussions, and advocating for users during trade-offs.
- Proven ownership of an app development platform, feature, or framework where real-time was core to the developer experience.
- Ability to extract your own answers from data. You understand product instrumentation and are comfortable querying and analyzing your own findings.
- Comfortable with Postgres and familiar with logical replication.
- Work async by default. You make decisions in writing and move work forward without relying on meetings.
STRONG SIGNALS (Nice to Have):
- Existing developer audience through social media, open source, or developer advocacy.
- Experience with sync engines, local-first products, or live-query systems.
- Background working with gaming, AR, or collaborative-tool customers.
- Have shipped something using Supabase.
