Perplexity is seeking a Senior Product Manager for Platform to own the strategy and execution of internal platforms and shared services that enable multiple product and operational teams. In this role, you will: - Understand the needs of internal teams and external customers who depend on your platforms. Use product data, operational feedback, and quality issues to identify high-impact problems. - Turn recurring needs into reusable services, tools, and workflows that reduce duplicated work across the organization. - Work directly with product, engineering, and operational teams to understand workflows, identify recurring problems, and anticipate future capability needs. - Prioritize platform investments across new product enablement, reliability, efficiency, and technical debt, making clear tradeoffs between near-term delivery and long-term flexibility. - Define and track success through business impact, reliability, cost to serve, and reduced manual work, connecting these measures to customer and business outcomes. - Partner closely with engineering on technical tradeoffs, build-versus-buy decisions, and rollout plans. - Write clear requirements and drive delivery from problem definition through launch and iteration. You will work on complex, multi-stakeholder platforms serving customers, agents, and internal employees simultaneously. This includes critical systems such as support platforms, compliance tooling, identity and access, billing, fraud prevention, and trust & safety. REQUIREMENTS: - Proven experience owning product strategy and execution on technical products and platforms, or shared systems (e.g., billing/monetization, identity/access, developer platforms, data/experimentation, internal tooling, support). - Strong technical fluency: ability to reason about APIs, data flows, system dependencies, and failure modes; comfortable working closely with engineers on consequential tradeoffs. - Strong analytical skills: can investigate problems independently, define meaningful metrics, and evaluate platform investment impact. - Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to align teams around priorities and make difficult decisions when needs compete. - High ownership and sound judgment in fast-moving environments; comfortable balancing long-term strategy with hands-on execution. - Systems thinking, detail orientation, and problem-solving mindset. Experience wrangling complex, thorny problems; comfortable diving into messy workflows, support tickets, edge cases, and cross-platform behavior. - Experience working on platforms with multiple stakeholders and non-trivial tradeoffs. - AI-native product thinking: ability to build AI products whose outputs require evaluation, safeguards, and human-in-the-loop design. - Experience defining metrics in ambiguity, breaking down workflows, and using quantitative and qualitative evidence to prioritize. - Some experience working on critical software (support platforms/agents, legal/compliance tooling, identity/account tooling, billing, fraud, trust & safety). - High ownership mentality; driven to improve current workflows and clear backlogs.
