Salary: USD 172,000 - 258,000 / annual
Vercel is seeking a Product Manager for Observability to own the strategy and roadmap for observability products including Runtime Logs, OpenTelemetry tracing, and Drains. These products enable developers to stream logs, traces, Web Analytics events, and Speed Insights metrics into their preferred systems.
You will partner closely with engineering and design to help customers understand and debug applications running on Vercel, both through native Vercel surfaces and integrations with vendors supporting OpenTelemetry (Datadog, Sentry, Grafana, Honeycomb, New Relic).
Key responsibilities include: owning end-to-end strategy and roadmap for observability products; translating customer signal (support escalations, interviews, usage data, competitive shifts) into a sequenced plan with clear tradeoffs; partnering daily with engineering on scoping and design on making telemetry data legible; defining what Vercel builds natively versus where to integrate with third-party vendors; working with Enterprise customers and Sales on observability blockers; owning pricing and packaging decisions with Finance and GTM; writing launch narratives and documentation; and defining success metrics.
You will report to the product lead and be based in New York with hybrid anchor days (Monday, Tuesday, Friday) if within commuting distance; fully remote if beyond.
Required: 5+ years in product management with meaningful experience on developer, infrastructure, or data-intensive products. You've shipped technical products where engineers treated you as a peer, can read trace waterfalls and reason about cardinality/sampling/retention costs, and are comfortable owning a domain end-to-end. You use the products you build and have strong data fluency—writing your own queries rather than waiting on others.
Bonus: experience at observability/APM/monitoring companies, shipped AI/agent-facing developer tooling, owned consumption-based pricing, or are an active Next.js/Vercel user.
