Tensec is building vertical AI for cross-border trade, serving freight forwarders, shipping lines, customs brokers, and 4PLs. The company is automating workflows that currently run on email and manual processes, starting with FX/payments and expanding into quoting, booking, and trade finance. You will own the product for the core logistics workflow: request, quote, booking, and shipment tracking.
In this role, you will work directly with enterprise clients' pricing and operations teams to understand their actual workflows and design AI-powered solutions that fit their processes. You'll sit with clients, learn how work happens, and make decisions about what an AI agent should own versus what requires human judgment. You'll build prototypes using AI tools, write specs for engineers, and own the client relationship throughout implementation.
Your first 12–18 months will focus on: getting an agent into daily use at a client within two quarters; establishing baseline metrics before building; eliminating information loss at handoffs; capturing operator judgment into product; setting accuracy standards for AI in a domain where wrong numbers cost real money; deciding which workflows are bespoke, configurable, or core product; and bringing subsequent clients onto the platform with less custom work.
You will also handle requirements gathering with pricing, operations, and finance teams; write detailed specs and flows; build working prototypes; own key client relationships; work through hard cases rather than edge cases; and partner with in-house freight expertise.
Tensec was founded in 2023 by operators from Meta, PayPal, Credit Karma, Goldman Sachs, Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. The company is backed by Quiet Capital, Coinbase Ventures, Costanoa Ventures, Renegade Partners, Clocktower, and WillowTree. It operates in the US, Mexico, and Brazil, serving enterprise trading companies with billions in annual trade flows.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years building or delivering software for operational teams, including at least one 0-to-1 product that reached real usage. Product management is the most common path, but implementation leads, solutions leads, and operators who moved into product are equally considered.
- Experience in a domain with genuinely messy pricing and operational data; you ask about the data model before the screen.
- Ability to read a process and understand the data underneath; you can map what each system owns, where truth lives, what goes stale, and what breaks when a person is the integration.
- Judgment about where AI belongs in operational workflows: which parts an agent should own, which need a person, which should stay deterministic.
- Hands-on experience with AI: you have built with LLMs (even prototypes), are comfortable with prompting, retrieval, and evaluation, and can distinguish a working demo from a working system. Production coding not required.
- Strong customer-facing skills; you can run working sessions with people burned by software before and leave them on your side.
- Ability to work effectively with engineers without doing their job; you ask good questions about system capabilities and constraints.
- Working Spanish is a plus (client pricing teams work in Spanish).
- Based in Miami, NYC, or Palo Alto, willing to travel on-site with clients in US and Latin America.
NICE TO HAVE:
- Freight forwarding, customs brokerage, 3PL, or logistics technology background.
- Experience building quoting, rating, tariff, or pricing systems in any industry.
- Experience with transport management, rate management, or procurement platforms.
- Shipped a product with significant LLM component.
- Consulting or solutions delivery experience, especially if you've moved to product side.
- Experience in Brazil or Mexico, or building for Latin American SMBs.
