Lovable is a software creation platform that democratizes app development, enabling anyone from solopreneurs to enterprises to build applications. Since launch in November 2024, over 60 million projects have been created on the platform. The company is headquartered in Stockholm with growing teams in London, Boston, New York, and San Francisco.
You will own the product strategy and roadmap for Lovable's Identity & Access Management (IAM) function, shaping how authentication, authorization, and identity work across the existing Lovable ecosystem and the one million+ new apps built weekly. This is a technically complex domain requiring deep expertise in modern identity systems and open standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing deep understanding of identity needs across Lovable-built applications and the broader ecosystem
- Owning the complete product strategy and roadmap for authentication, authorization, and identity
- Defining standards-based primitives for users, organizations, AI agents, roles, permissions, policies, sessions, and delegated access at scale
- Shaping a seamless identity experience for both builders configuring apps and end users
- Partnering closely with engineering to balance individual builder needs with enterprise requirements while maintaining platform simplicity
- Defining how AI agents and non-human identities authenticate and operate within the system
- Owning identity and access for programmatic Lovable usage (API, CLI, SDK, MCP)
- Shipping focused functionality, validating through user feedback and metrics, and iterating rapidly
You'll tackle foundational projects including building a multi-tenant identity service on open standards supporting millions of applications.
The ideal candidate has significant experience owning technically complex products in identity, authentication, authorization, developer platforms, or infrastructure. You have a track record of setting product direction in ambiguous spaces, aligning teams around strategy, and shipping products. You possess strong knowledge of OAuth, OpenID Connect, SAML, SCIM, passkeys, service accounts, roles, permissions, and policy-based access control. Technical fluency is essential—you program or have programmed and can credibly engage engineers on platform architecture, APIs, data models, security boundaries, and identity protocols. You combine strong product sense with systems thinking, exceptional communication skills, and sharp judgment navigating difficult tradeoffs.
