Xendit is a payment infrastructure platform serving Southeast Asia, processing millions of transactions monthly for SMEs and enterprises. The company provides APIs, eCommerce integrations, and applications for payments, marketplace operations, payroll, loans, KYC, and fraud prevention.
This role owns the developer experience surface for Xendit's payment APIs—the integration flow, SDKs, documentation, sandbox environment, error handling, and time-to-first-successful-call. You will be the strategic owner of the developer journey from initial API exploration through production deployment and scale.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning the developer experience roadmap: integration flows, SDKs, documentation quality, sandbox capabilities, error messaging, and reducing friction to first successful transaction
- Driving developer activation and retention metrics from sign-up through first production transaction and beyond
- Conducting discovery grounded in developer behavior: analyzing integration analytics, synthesizing support and community signals, and conducting direct developer research
- Partnering closely with Engineering on API design, DX standards, and prioritizing developer experience debt against new feature development
- Communicating trade-offs clearly to senior stakeholders and translating platform changes into coherent developer-facing experiences
You will report to the Product Design & UX Director for Customer Lifecycle and work most closely with Engineering, whose API and platform decisions shape the experience you own. This is a newly dedicated product ownership role; part of your early work involves helping define where developer-experience ownership sits organizationally. The domain values validated findings over assumptions and direct, candid critique.
Requirements:
- Proven PM experience with API, platform, or developer-facing products where developers are the primary user
- Genuine technical fluency: ability to read API documentation, discuss schemas, authentication, and webhooks with engineers (required, not optional)
- Demonstrated empathy for developer workflows and understanding of where developers encounter friction
- Strong plus: background as a developer, or prior experience building SDKs, documentation, or DX products; payments or fintech domain experience
