The company enables fintechs and banks across the region to launch credit, debit, and prepaid card programs rapidly and securely through cloud-based APIs and modular architecture.
As Product Manager for Cards, you will own end-to-end card product definition and design, serving as the strategic bridge between customers, business stakeholders, and the product organization. This is a senior individual contributor role with significant customer-facing responsibility and cross-functional influence.
Key responsibilities include:
**Customer Relationships**: Build trust-based partnerships with C-level, product, and operations leaders at client organizations. Manage expectations clearly, navigate difficult conversations when product has limitations, and co-design solutions at appropriate moments.
**Solution Design & Requirements**: Gather and structure customer needs alongside strategic business initiatives from business development, pre-sales, and operations teams. Translate ambiguous requirements into concrete problems and design high-level functional solutions including workflows, business rules, and configurability options. Bridge the gap between customer requests and what makes architectural sense for Pomelo's modular platform. Validate solutions with internal stakeholders including Risk, Legal, Operations, and Technology teams.
**Internal Coordination**: Identify gaps between current product capabilities and detected customer needs, proposing standardization opportunities. Collaborate with the Product Platform Manager to translate customer needs into clear roadmap inputs. Hand off well-scoped design work to Product Owners with clear problem definition. Support pre-sales and business development teams in validating feasibility and defining solutions for prospects.
Required qualifications: minimum 5 years of product experience at fintech, payments, or regulated industry companies. Demonstrated ability to manage sophisticated customers and multiple internal stakeholders simultaneously. Strong problem-structuring skills with ability to communicate complex topics clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Autonomy to advance in ambiguous contexts without constant support.
Preferred: direct experience with credit/debit cards, payment processors, or payments infrastructure. Intermediate to advanced English (desirable for regional customer interaction). Portuguese language skills are a plus.
Pomelo offers innovation leadership, regional collaboration across Latin America, tangible impact on the fintech ecosystem, practical learning-by-doing culture, and authentic hybrid flexibility.
