Outset has invented AI-powered user interviews, enabling global brands like HubSpot, Microsoft, Uber, and Nestle to conduct qualitative research at unprecedented speed and scale. The research industry exceeds $140B and is ripe for disruption—incumbents are slow and expensive. Outset raised a $30M Series B in December 2025 (led by Radical Ventures, with participation from M12, 8VC, Y Combinator, and Adverb Ventures) following 8x business growth as enterprises adopt AI-moderated research as the new standard.
You will own product initiatives from strategy and discovery through launch and measurable customer impact. This is a hands-on individual contributor role on the Core Product team, working closely with engineering, design, the Core Product lead, Sales, and Customer Success. The core challenge is making complex research workflows intuitive while helping customers trust and act on AI-generated results—balancing speed, usability, and research quality.
Key responsibilities include:
- Setting direction and making tradeoffs between immediate needs and longer-term goals, connecting customer problems to business impact and prioritizing work that improves adoption, retention, and expansion.
- Starting with customer evidence: conducting customer interviews, analyzing product usage data, and gathering Sales and Customer Success feedback to identify problems worth solving.
- Building solutions collaboratively with engineering and design, shaping approaches, testing assumptions, clarifying requirements, and resolving open questions.
- Owning product quality by testing shipped features, catching confusing workflows and edge cases, and following through on fixes.
- Leading launch readiness by equipping customer-facing teams with positioning, demos, and launch materials that support adoption.
- Measuring and iterating: defining success metrics, tracking customer outcomes, and deciding what to improve next.
Requirements:
- Typically 5+ years of product management experience, including at least 2 years owning product decisions for B2B software.
- A track record of shipping products and improving adoption and outcomes through customer feedback and data.
- Strong product judgment: ability to identify underlying problems, prioritize competing needs, and make and explain decisions with incomplete information.
- Hands-on experience using AI tools and the ability to reason about where AI improves a workflow, where it falls short, and how customers should evaluate its output.
- Strong collaboration with engineers and designers, technical fluency to discuss constraints, and attention to the shipped experience.
- Clear writing and communication with customers, engineering, and leadership; ability to build alignment and work independently.
Nice to have:
- Experience building new products or substantially evolving existing ones in a small, fast-moving team.
- Background in user research or experience building B2B products for research, insights, analytics, AI, or other complex professional workflows.
- Prior product marketing or sales enablement experience, including creating effective demos and launch materials.
