Next Insurance is an AI-powered, full-stack insurance carrier focused on making business insurance simple and affordable for small business owners. The company underwrites its own risk, builds its own systems, and owns the entire value chain—meaning product decisions directly impact customer pricing and coverage speed. You will own the technology and go-to-market side of the Business Owner's Policy (BOP), Next's flagship product. This is a high-impact role where you'll drive the product roadmap, own distribution strategy across three channels (Direct, Agent, Partnership), and package/merchandise products for both small business owners and insurance agents. You'll work closely with insurance product managers (who own underwriting guidelines, coverages, and limits) as a peer, sharing the same OKRs and accountability for product growth. Key responsibilities include: - Driving the product roadmap with explicit long-term vs. short-term trade-offs - Shipping a true BOP product that closes the gap between current offerings and market expectations - Owning go-to-market strategy and execution across distribution channels - Packaging and merchandising coverage decisions - Building delightful UX that drives conversion and underwriting quality - Running product strategy planning and monthly executive updates - Becoming fluent in insurance fundamentals (coverages, appetite, filings, loss ratios) - Leveraging AI to accelerate team workflows and product development The role sits at the intersection of complex financial products, regulated insurance, and AI-driven innovation. You'll work with a lean team rebuilding core judgment loops in a centuries-old industry, with direct visibility to revenue impact (product is in the $xxxM range). REQUIREMENTS: - 8+ years in product management shipping customer-facing products with meaningful revenue - Bonus: experience with complex, regulated, or financial products where details are critical - User obsession backed by ruthless prioritization - Exceptional executive communication skills - Direct experience working with distribution channels or GTM teams - Comfort building software for complex, regulated, or financial products - Ability to challenge status quo through problem-solving, not louder opinions - Ability to use AI tools to accelerate workflows without compromising quality DESIRABLE: - Background in insurance, fintech, lending, or regulated categories - Experience selling to small business owners - Strong analytical skills and direct data experience - Strong design partnership instincts
