Customer.io is a platform used by over 9,000 companies to send billions of emails, push notifications, in-app messages, and SMS daily. The company powers automated communication using real-time behavioral data to help teams send smarter, more relevant messages. You will own the product experience of Customer.io's agent, working with the agent team to ensure it is first-class, competitive, and helpful for AI-first marketers using the platform. This role sits at the center of the self-serve adoption motion, working alongside a Senior PM on the self-serve pod with real ownership over a defined slice of the customer journey. Key responsibilities include: - Own the product experience of the agent and ensure it works well with other parts of the platform - Find and resolve friction points using data, experimentation, and customer insight - Define and track success metrics for activation, retention, and monetization - Partner with Marketing, CX, and Design to ensure success across all touchpoints - Work with Engineering to scope and deliver improvements that produce customer value - Communicate priorities and progress clearly across teams and leadership The company values customer empathy (digging into what's actually slowing customers down), bias to experiment (running tests rather than debating opinions), clear communication (making complex tradeoffs easy to follow), and ownership without ego (driving areas forward while knowing when to ask for help). This is a remote, async-first role based in the Americas. Requirements: - 3+ years of product management experience in SaaS, ideally with some experience PMing an agentic experience - Experience using or developing AI-powered tooling in your product workflow - Track record of improving activation or retention metrics - Strong analytical and experimentation skills — data-driven but comfortable with ambiguity - Experience collaborating across Product, Marketing, and CX - Clear communicator who simplifies complexity and drives alignment - Deep curiosity about what helps customers succeed - Comfort working autonomously in a remote, async-first environment
