As a Product Engineer on the Core team in Lisbon, you will own initiatives that improve marketplace health across the entire customer and partner journey—from search through booking, post-booking, and repeat usage. You'll partner closely with operational teams (Supply, Partner Success, Customer Support) to improve supply quality, reduce operational load, and strengthen day-to-day execution. You'll also maintain and improve the reliability of the core Bounce experience, handling production issues and continuously enhancing resiliency.
You will take ownership of real-world customer problems and craft intelligent, efficient solutions across both backend and frontend. Projects are scoped to fit into one or two-week cycles, and you'll own features from concept to production. This is a generalist role where you'll contribute across the entire technology stack—mobile apps, web applications, growth engines, and partner tools. You'll write high-quality, maintainable code and work with technologies including Elixir, React Native, Expo, React, NextJS, and TypeScript.
Bounce operates in fast-paced one-week cycles with a small, collaborative team. Projects are led by individuals but require cross-team collaboration. You'll be expected to ask for help and participate in all aspects of the software-building process, not just coding. The role emphasizes velocity, ownership, and a commitment to creating exceptional end-user experiences.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Relevant experience developing and shipping code for production systems
- Generalist mindset with ability to own features end-to-end across the full stack
- Proficient coding skills in one or more of: JavaScript, TypeScript, Elixir, or Ruby
- Experience with frontend frameworks and technologies (React, React Native, JavaScript, CSS, etc.)
- Proven experience building maintainable and testable codebases, including API design and unit/integration testing
- Commitment to exceptional end-user experience with attention to detail
- Current knowledge of relevant technologies and ability to implement them effectively
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines
