Black Forest Labs, creators of Latent Diffusion, Stable Diffusion, and FLUX—foundational generative models used by millions of creators and developers worldwide—is seeking a Product Engineer to build the interfaces through which users experience these frontier models. You'll own the full-stack product surfaces that developers and creatives interact with first: the Playground (where users test models), the Dashboard (for key/usage/billing management), launch demos for new FLUX models, and reference implementations. Your responsibilities span shipping high-quality web applications end-to-end, translating research capabilities into production-ready products, owning frontend architecture and shared component systems, and setting the visual and interaction bar for the entire engineering team. Day-to-day work includes designing for genuinely hard interaction problems (long-running generations, iterative editing, large media payloads, real-time inference), driving performance for high-volume media processing, and collaborating with research, infrastructure, growth, and design teams on prioritization. This is a frontend-leaning full-stack role where you'll live in the frontend but be comfortable following features into the API layer, database, and migrations independently. A unique aspect: most code is written by AI agents. Your job is deciding what to build, decomposing it so agents execute well, and reviewing generated code with enough judgment to catch subtle bugs, security issues, and maintainability problems. You'll need strong instincts about where agents should and shouldn't be trusted. You should have a track record of shipping real products users depend on, fluency with coding agents on existing (not greenfield) codebases, visual craft and strong product sense, excellent debugging instincts, and comfort with the ambiguity and pace of an early-stage lab. Nice-to-haves include React/TypeScript/Next.js experience, developer tools or creative application background, experience building on generative models, instrumentation/experimentation skills, and open-source contributions. The interview process includes four conversations plus a half-day onsite in Freiburg (travel covered). You'll build something live using your normal tools and workflow, with coding agents encouraged.
