Salary: USD 118,000 - 139,000 / annual
Blend is a cloud banking platform used by major financial institutions (Wells Fargo, U.S. Bank, and 330+ others) to deliver digital lending experiences. The platform processes over $5 billion in loans daily.
You will serve as Product Architect for Blend's fastest-growing home lending product line, which delivers streamlined digital origination from application through rate-locked loan in a single flow. This is a forward-deployed, client-facing technical product role that bridges pre-sales, delivery, and product strategy.
Your initial assignment is serving as dedicated product owner for a major enterprise client's highly customized build—owning requirements gathering, backlog management, and sprint execution with globally distributed engineering teams. This deep product immersion will equip you for the broader advisory mission.
Key responsibilities:
- Own the technical product relationship with clients from pre-sales discovery through post-implementation
- Serve as dedicated product owner for contracted custom builds, managing requirements and backlog with engineering
- Advise prospects during discovery on solution design, component selection, and what's standard vs. custom vs. out-of-scope
- Build repeatable discovery processes (questions, scoping methods, gap-analysis templates) that account executives and sales engineers can run on standard deals
- Support pre-sales on technical feasibility, solution design, and proposals
- Translate client needs into buildable requirements for product owners
- Engage post-go-live on stabilization, adoption, and expansion
- Feed client signal into product packaging, pricing, and platform convergence decisions
You will report to home lending product leadership and partner closely with product owners, pre-sales/solutions engineering, globally distributed engineering teams, and delivery/customer success leads.
Requirements:
- Technical depth plus product sense; comfortable in both architecture conversations with client engineers and roadmap conversations with executives
- Experience in client-facing technical product roles such as solutions architecture, technical product management, or implementation consulting
- Mortgage or fintech background strongly preferred; home equity and refinance domain knowledge is a significant advantage
- Self-starter comfortable with ambiguity; this is a strategic individual contributor role that helps define strategy, not just operate within existing setup
- Ability to write requirements that engineering can build from without rework
- Comfortable working across global time zones and traveling to client sites as needed (travel required)
