Working closely with product managers and company leadership, you'll inform long-term, medium-term, and short-term strategy for your product area. Key responsibilities include:
- Proactively partnering with PMs and leadership to drive strategic decision-making
- Defining metrics and establishing clear goals for product areas
- Designing and sharing dashboards and analytical insights across the organization
- Collaborating with engineers to improve data logging, ETL pipelines, and data infrastructure ergonomics
- Operating with limited resources and taking ownership of what needs to be done
This is a hands-on role in a small, scrappy team where you'll have significant impact on product direction and company strategy.

- 4+ years of experience as an analyst or in a similar technical role
- Solid understanding of product growth concepts and frameworks (retention curves, cohort analysis, growth accounting)
- Advanced SQL knowledge and familiarity with BI tools (Snowflake and Periscope used daily)
- Strong data visualization and written/verbal communication skills; ability to design clear dashboards and convey salient insights
- Solid understanding of A/B testing and experimentation concepts (test design, power calculation, post-hoc analysis, novelty effects)
- Strong product sense and deep understanding of Substack's product, user base, and market position
- Ability to work independently with limited resources
- Experience with Trust & Safety and/or Sales and Partnerships data is a plus
