Paytm, India's leading mobile payments and financial services company, is seeking a Product Analyst - Assistant Manager to join the product team supporting the Agent & Merchant business. This role bridges data and product strategy, driving data-informed decision-making across the product lifecycle.
You will analyze product performance, user behavior, and feature adoption to identify optimization opportunities. Key responsibilities include defining and tracking product KPIs (engagement, retention, conversion, growth), building dashboards and reports using SQL and BI tools, and partnering with Product Managers on roadmap prioritization and feature impact analysis. You'll conduct funnel, cohort, trend, and root-cause analyses, support product launches with success metrics and post-launch evaluation, and analyze product ratings and customer feedback to inform improvements.
The role involves driving small to medium-scale analytics initiatives end-to-end, collaborating with cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, Design) to present insights and recommendations, and benchmarking products against industry trends. You'll also leverage AI tools and agentic AI for workflows, documentation, and data analysis.
This is a people-management position within the product analytics function, overseeing analytics work and supporting broader product team goals through data storytelling and insight generation.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 3–5 years of proven experience in a Product Analyst or product-focused analytics role
- Strong proficiency in SQL and relational databases (BigQuery, Hive, Starburst)
- Strong experience with spreadsheet analysis and dashboarding (Excel, Google Sheets)
- Hands-on experience with AI tools or Agentic AI for workflows, documentation, data analysis, and insight generation
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data storytelling skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities
- Technical skills: BI/visualization tools (Apache Superset, Tableau, Power BI, Looker); Python, spreadsheet scripting (Apps Script/macros), and PySpark are a plus
