Salary: USD 90,000 - 140,000 / annual

Overland AI, founded in 2022 and headquartered in Seattle, is transforming land operations for modern defense through advanced robotics and machine learning. The company has secured funding from prominent defense tech investors including 8VC and Point 72, and maintains trusted partnerships with DARPA, the U.S. Army, Marine Corps, and Special Operations Command. Backed by eight-figure contracts across the Department of Defense, Overland AI is strengthening national security through close iteration with end users engaged in tactical operations. The Procurement Specialist will join the Business Operations team and be responsible for day-to-day procurement and purchasing activities supporting the company's manufacturing and operational requirements. The role focuses primarily on purchasing production components and materials, managing purchase orders, maintaining accurate purchasing records, developing effective supplier relationships, and coordinating with Engineering, Inventory Control, and other internal stakeholders to ensure material availability. Key responsibilities include: creating, issuing, and managing purchase orders for production components, raw materials, supplies, and inventory items in accordance with established requirements and specifications; obtaining and maintaining supplier quotations, pricing information, lead times, and minimum order quantities; supporting cost-reduction and sourcing initiatives by identifying opportunities for improved pricing, lead times, terms, quality, or supply continuity; coordinating with suppliers and Inventory Control to resolve receiving discrepancies, quantity issues, damaged materials, and documentation problems; maintaining accurate purchasing data within the company's ERP system; identifying potential material shortages and escalating risks that could affect production schedules; contributing to supplier evaluations, vendor records, and supplier scorecards; coordinating with Quality, Engineering, and Inventory Control to ensure non-conforming materials are properly documented and dispositioned; working closely with Engineering and Inventory Control to maintain appropriate inventory levels; supporting material planning activities during periods of increased production, new product introduction, or changing demand; and ensuring purchasing activities comply with company policies, approved supplier requirements, government requirements, and established procurement processes. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where priorities can change quickly. This position requires strong communication and follow-through, with regular interaction with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve purchase order issues, monitor material deliveries, and address non-conforming materials. REQUIREMENTS: - Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or related field – or equivalent practical experience - 3–5 years of applied experience in purchasing, procurement, materials management, supply chain, or related work in a manufacturing environment - Experience purchasing components, materials, supplies, or other goods for a manufacturing operation - Strong organizational skills, analytical and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail - Ability to manage multiple purchase orders, suppliers, and competing priorities simultaneously - Experience working with engineering drawings, bills of material (BOMs), part numbers, and engineering specifications - Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems and purchasing or inventory modules - Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with Engineering, Quality, Inventory Control, Manufacturing, Finance, and Supply Chain teams - Demonstrated ability to follow through on open issues and drive them to resolution
