Salary: USD 130,000 - 165,000 / annual
Hadrian is building autonomous factories to reindustrialize America, combining AI, advanced software, robotics, and full-stack manufacturing to help aerospace and defense companies build rockets, satellites, aircraft, ships, and mission-critical systems up to 10x faster and at significantly lower cost. The company recently closed a $1.37B Series D at a $7.87B valuation and is rapidly expanding manufacturing capabilities across welding, casting, forging, electronics, and additive manufacturing.
As Procurement Manager, Subcontracts, you will own total accountability for strategy and execution of the subcontract supply chain—the externally manufactured component of Hadrian's operations. You sit at the intersection of sourcing, contract management, and supplier performance, acting as the connective tissue between customers, internal teams, and the supply base.
Key responsibilities include: owning supplier selection and sourcing strategy for externally manufactured requirements; serving as primary point of direction to buyers, coordinators, supplier quality, and factory operations teams; managing operational KPIs around transactional SLAs, quality, delivery, and cost; developing long-term strategies for cost reduction, quality improvement, and supply base growth; escalating negotiations and commercial resolutions; ensuring compliance with company, customer, and government policies; presenting supply chain health and risks to leadership; developing and evolving standard operating procedures; collaborating with internal product and software teams on tooling improvements; conducting technical reviews of specifications with suppliers; supporting make-versus-buy analysis; managing open order risks proactively; and visiting suppliers on-site to align on growth plans and resolve blockers.
You will need a bachelor's degree or advanced degree plus 5+ years of experience in engineering (mechanical, aerospace, chemical, materials), purchasing/procurement (CNC machining, forgings, metallic raw materials, sheet metal, tooling), contract negotiation, supply chain management, or material/demand planning. Demonstrated success managing large-value contracts and complex supply chains in advanced manufacturing is essential. You should be comfortable navigating technical engineering specifications, learning program context quickly, and managing cross-functional teams across factory operations.
