Cylib, a mission-driven scale-up in battery recycling and circular economy, is seeking a Procurement Manager to lead strategic and operational procurement initiatives. You will drive procurement strategy and execution in close collaboration with internal teams, with a focus on indirect materials and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage operational procurement processes to ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery
- Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of SAP S/4HANA in the procurement function
- Conduct market analysis and manage RFI/RFQ processes to identify suitable suppliers and sourcing approaches
- Review, analyze, and optimize technical specifications in collaboration with internal stakeholders; develop sourcing alternatives
- Develop category strategies and derive targeted sourcing strategies
- Build and maintain a sustainable, value-adding supplier base; support supplier evaluations and audits
- Prepare, conduct, and follow up on supplier negotiations in coordination with relevant teams
- Negotiate framework agreements and resolve contractual issues to safeguard the supply chain
This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced, research-driven technology environment where you will take ownership from day one and shape outcomes with real impact on Europe's battery supply chains.
Requirements:
- Several years of professional experience in procurement, ideally covering both operational and strategic purchasing
- Degree in engineering, business administration, or comparable discipline; or equivalent qualification such as technical vocational training combined with master craftsperson or state-certified technician certification
- High proficiency in SAP S/4HANA or another ERP system, with experience implementing and developing SAP in procurement
- Sound knowledge of contract law and confident application in procurement negotiations
- Solid technical understanding and strong analytical skills to structure and evaluate complex requirements
- Fluency in German and English with strong communication skills
- Proactive, independent work style with ability to manage priorities in dynamic environments
- Willingness to travel occasionally
