As Regional Procurement Director for AMER, you will own end-to-end procurement across Volta's North American portfolio, reporting directly to the VP of Vendor Procurement. This is a foundational leadership role where you will establish procurement discipline and standards for the region while managing a Category Management team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the AMER Category Management team to execute category strategy across major spend areas: long-lead equipment (transformers, switchgear, generators, chillers, cooling infrastructure), MEP systems, whitespace, modular and prefabrication packages, and associated consulting services
- Developing and managing Preferred Supply partners and supplier relationships across the region
- Implementing Volta's global sourcing standards, procurement policies, and end-to-end processes, with exception routing to the VP
- Owning procurement plans for every active AMER project, aligned to work package structures and delivery sequences
- Tracking and securing long-lead equipment against project schedules, flagging schedule-critical risks early
- Leading negotiation of regional supply and framework agreements with Procurement Legal Counsel
- Holding dotted-line accountability for project procurement leads embedded in Integrated Project Teams, including their standards, output quality, and career development
- Partnering with Regional Delivery Manager, Project Delivery Managers, and Project Controls to align procurement sequencing with project stage gates
- Providing regional vendor spend, risk, and commitment visibility to senior leadership and global portfolio reporting
Requirements:
- 10+ years of procurement experience in data center, energy, or large-scale infrastructure construction
- Direct experience with North American supply chains and vendor markets
- Proven track record leading a category management team and enforcing sourcing discipline
- Experience negotiating master and framework agreements and managing OEM relationships for long-lead, capital-intensive equipment
- Experience operating in matrix delivery organizations, balancing functional standards against project-level delivery pressure
- Comfort working with legal counsel on complex commercial and contractual terms
- Strong reporting and communication skills with senior stakeholders
- Collaborative approach to building new teams
