Base Power is rebuilding America's electrical grid by deploying distributed battery systems at scale. The Deployments team is responsible for getting battery systems from facilities into customers' homes safely, efficiently, and at scale. As a Process Engineer, you will architect and optimize the processes for rapid hardware deployments throughout Texas, ensuring positive customer experience and high system uptime.
You will audit deployment data using SQL to ensure integrity across systems, design and implement scalable internal processes for the deployment pipeline, and build internal tools and dashboards using Python, JavaScript, and BI platforms to automate workflows and provide real-time visibility into operational metrics. You'll perform data analytics to identify bottlenecks in the deployment pipeline, measure process effectiveness, and drive continuous improvement. Collaboration with engineering and operations teams is central to translating operational needs into technical requirements for internal tools and data models.
Additional responsibilities include setting up and maintaining data collection systems for comprehensive tracking of hardware deployment and performance, and developing documentation for internal tools, data models, and new operational processes.
You bring a degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience, with 2+ years in data analysis, process engineering, or internal tools development. You are comfortable with SQL and complex database queries, have a strong data-driven mindset, and can transform data into actionable insights. You have demonstrated experience building scalable, repeatable, and documented processes, proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python, JavaScript), and experience with BI/data visualization tools (Tableau, Looker, Metabase).
The Deployments team sits at the intersection of hardware, software, data, and field operations. You'll work closely with field teams and engineers to understand ground-level challenges, use data to identify opportunities, and build tools and processes that make deployments faster and more reliable. This is a highly cross-functional, hands-on role with significant ownership over current operations while architecting systems for future scale. Base is a startup where priorities shift quickly; your role may expand based on business needs.
