Salary: USD 135,000 - 200,000 / annual

Hadrian is building autonomous factories for aerospace and defense manufacturing, enabling companies to produce rockets, satellites, jets, and ships up to 10x faster and 2x cheaper. Rowe Price, Lux Capital, Founders Fund, and Andreessen Horowitz, Hadrian is expanding rapidly with Factory 3 launching in Mesa, Arizona, and new initiatives including Hadrian Maritime. As a Process Development Engineer in Additive Manufacturing, you will be the technical lead for process development, owning how the company builds, iterates, and automates additive manufacturing processes. This role reimagines additive manufacturing from the ground up using automation, AI, and new software tools to overcome traditional constraints. Key responsibilities include: leading process and parameter development for metal additive processes, executing design-of-experiments (DOEs) to define process windows and drive machine/material/process readiness; driving adoption of in situ monitoring, statistical process control, and digital traceability; building or evaluating software tools to accelerate parameter development and automation; researching and implementing novel tools and technologies; designing automated workflows for efficient validation and implementation; serving as the technical point of contact for part-geometry-specific parameters and platform challenges; collaborating with materials engineering to validate and implement new processes into production; and working cross-functionally with applications, materials, systems, and software engineers. Required qualifications: Master's degree in engineering; 3+ years developing and optimizing parameters and processes for additive manufacturing with strong focus on metal processes; hands-on experience with additive manufacturing equipment and software including build processors or process simulation tools; experience building or improving automated workflows, scripting, or tooling; ability to translate new materials into validated production-ready processes; comfort working in undefined spaces building new processes rather than relying on established norms; U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (ITAR compliance required). Desirable qualifications include extensive LPBF experience with DED as secondary strength; aerospace, aviation, defense, or energy industry background; in situ process monitoring experience; Python or scripting experience for workflow automation; familiarity with NADCAP, AMS7000 series, AS9100, and ASTM/AMS additive specifications; knowledge of fracture control classification; and production scale-up experience in high-rate manufacturing.
