Hut 8 operates large-scale data centers for next-generation computing workloads including AI, colocation, cloud, and Bitcoin mining. This Principal, Technology role provides day-to-day operational support to the technology leader and coordinates across five functional domains: Software Engineering, Data Science, IT, Networking, and Cybersecurity. You will serve as the operational backbone of the technology organization, translating organizational priorities into coordinated execution. Key responsibilities include: • Provide day-to-day operational support to the technology leader, translating priorities and decisions into clear actions, owners, and accountability. • Manage a unified intake process across the technology organization, triaging requests, routing work to appropriate domain leads, and escalating cross-functional or unclear items. • Prepare and coordinate leadership projects, agendas, decisions, action items, and follow-ups for prioritization and due diligence. • Maintain visibility into cross-functional initiatives, dependencies, risks, and blocked work, acting as a proactive escalation point when delivery slips. • Coordinate consistent weekly reporting across the five domains, including outcomes, active work, near-term plans, risks, and decisions needed. • Support quarterly roadmap and portfolio planning by organizing inputs, applying prioritization criteria, and preparing leadership recommendations. • Support technology governance, audit, compliance, and control activities by coordinating evidence, owners, deadlines, and executive responses. • Identify recurring friction in work request, prioritization, planning, communication, and delivery processes, then implement practical improvements. • Act as an on-demand proxy into specific domains or issues when additional coordination, investigation, or follow-through is needed. • Partner with teams to improve shared templates, tools, operating rhythms, and management practices. • Coordinate communications across the technology organization so teams understand priorities, decisions, changes, and expectations. This is a hands-on role for an experienced technology project or program professional who can move comfortably between operational detail and executive-level priorities. You will help create one coordinated technology organization while preserving the accountability and expertise of each domain. The right person is proactive, practical, and comfortable being the connective tissue across teams—they do not wait for perfect information to identify gaps, clarify ownership, and move work forward. They can challenge constructively, communicate directly, protect priorities, and build trust with both technical specialists and business leaders. REQUIREMENTS: • 5+ years of experience in technology project management, technical program management, business analysis, operations, or similar role. • Demonstrated experience coordinating work across multiple teams, functions, or technical stakeholders. • Strong understanding of project and portfolio management fundamentals, including scope, milestones, dependencies, risks, decisions, and ownership. • Technical literacy sufficient to work conversationally with engineering, data, infrastructure, networking, and cybersecurity teams. Must understand concepts such as APIs, systems integrations, networks, cloud services, and security controls; deep hands-on engineering expertise is not required. • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to translate operational detail into concise executive-level updates. • Excellent organization, prioritization, scheduling, meeting facilitation, and follow-through skills. • Sound judgment and practical instincts around escalation, missed commitments, ambiguous ownership, and slipping work. • Comfort operating in an evolving organization where priorities, responsibilities, and processes are still being defined. • Preferred: Experience supporting governance, audit, compliance, or other deadline-driven control activities. • Preferred: Experience in a technology organization (experience limited to non-technical business functions may require significant ramp-up).
